2024-2025 Peace Awards Awardees
Rebecca Gable, Linganore High School

Rebecca has participated in many of school activities, including leading the planning committee for the past two GSA winter dances, organizing social activities for inclusion, serving as an advocate for our students, and representing a voice in both our school and larger school community through her work in the GSA. Most importantly, she is an ally for all peers. Those who know Rebecca describe her as a leader, someone who demonstrates compassion and care, and is someone that consistently looks for ways to spread tolerance, kindness and understanding.
Principal, Dr. Michael Dillman, says “When I met with Rebecca to talk about her nomination, I could feel her passion for supporting others come through as she spoke about the personal and social experiences that have shaped her personality. From helping take care of her brother, navigating the social and academic challenges of high school, and in listening to her discuss her future aspirations, it is clear Rebecca is passionate about her beliefs and allows those to guide her in all that she does.
Rebecca’s chosen charity is The Arc of Frederick.
